I am unable to connect and push the GoverLan client to my windows 7 workstation. are there any specific firewall settings that need to be configured in Windows 7. My Domain group policy already has the necessary exceptions for windows XP and windows Vista workstations.

Let me tell you what Goverlan does in order to remotely install the agents. That ways you can further troubleshoot:
It pings the machine to make sure it is reachable. It opens the HKLM\Sofware\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion key on the remote machine to query some information. Make sure that you can open this key from your machine. It uses the C$ and ADMIN$ shares of the target machine in order to transfer files. Make sure that these shares are accessible from your machine. It registers the Goverlan Service. One of these step is failling.

Thank you.
It looks as though windows 7 by default keeps the remote registry service set to manual start up, which when stopped will not allow Goverlan to install its client software. I started the Remote registry service and was able to connect successfully.
